Biography

Michael was nominated for best feature film screenplay at the Austin Revolution Film Festival, Texas.

He has the unique privilege of having been in three Top 10 charts - as a non-fiction writer, a novelist, and a pop musician.

Formerly a member of the '80s band the Thompson Twins, his first hit novel, Equinox was translated into 35 languages and became a UK Top 10 bestseller.

Michael was Series Consultant for the Discovery Channel programme The Science of the Impossible. He is a regular on radio and TV and has appeared on Radio 4's Start The Week the Today Programme, All Things Considered in the US and has been a guest of Margaret Throsby on the ABC.

After securing a 'Distinguished Talent' visa, on January 1st 2002 Michael moved to Perth with his wife, Lisa and their four children.

Most recently, Michael has co-authored two thrillers with James Patterson, Private Down Under and Airport: Code Red each of which was a New York Times bestseller.
