Biography

Sethumadhavan Napan is a Mumbai based producer and currently the COO of DAR Motion Pictures, the makers of feature films like The Lunchbox, D-Day, Ugly, Haunted, Mickey Virus, Bucket List etc. With a keen interest in cinema from across the world and India, he is always on the lookout for interesting concepts across genres. In the past he has worked on regional films as an Executive Producer and Project Consultant, having supported indie films in languages like Tamil and Assamese. As of this year (2020) Sethu is looking after DAR's foray into the Southern film industries, as well as their entry into the fast developing Indian OTT/digital space with both original-series and films.

Sethu is also the co-founder and chief editor of Mad About Moviez, an online portal which is popular for its support for indie films and regional cinema. With a deep interest in the areas of film distribution and marketing, Sethu has also been a consultant for many regional films, being associated with the theatrical release of films including The Path of Zarathustra (English-All India), Manamantha (Telugu-North India), Vismayam (Malayaalm-North India), Jyo Achyutananda (Telugu-North India), 54321 (Tamil-North India), Vellai Pookal (Tamil-Mumbai), K-13 (Tamil-Mumbai). A qualified pharmacist and holding an MBA from one of India's most prestigious B.Schools, XLRI-Jamshedpur, Sethu has also worked with leading brands in the pharma, FMCG and education sectors in the past before choosing to follow his passion and getting into the film business.
