- Laura "Lola" Cote is a Canadian actor, writer and producer born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to Anne and Keith Cote, both high school teachers and inductees of the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame.
Cote began performing at a young age through musical theatre and competitive choir before shifting her focus to elite athletics.
She played NCAA Division I volleyball for the University of Memphis Tigers, earning All-American Honourable Mention recognition in 2006 and finishing as the Tigers’ all-time assists leader. Her career assists total ranks second in Conference USA history. After graduating with a degree in Marketing, she played professionally in Europe.
In 2014, Cote returned to the performing arts, graduating from Vancouver Film School’s Acting for Film & Television program. She has since contributed to award-winning, internationally screened films as an actor and producer, and founded the independent production company Lolasea.
