Greg Hughes, English actor known for portraying comedic and sinister characters.
Greg was born Gregory Hughes in Birmingham UK and attended Moat Farm infant and junior school and Langley High senior school in Oldbury. Greg left school at aged 16 and worked several jobs before turning 18 and training as a croupier at The Rainbow Casino in Birmingham city centre. Around this time is when Greg commenced his acting career attending Theatre and Dramatic Art studies at The Custard Factory in Digbeth and performing stage productions with Raw Talent Theatre Company as well as appearing regularly in small TV roles in UK television series Dalziel & Pascoe, Doctors and Casualty.
Greg subsequently worked in casino's aboard cruise ships travelling the world and offering companionship to well heeled widows and affluent middle aged women.
Upon his return from sailing the seven seas, Greg continued his acting training in Soho, London at Translantic Film School and Instinctual Acting where he met his mentor and close friend New Yorker, Michael Duvall. In theatre productions Greg mainly portrayed comedy roles which were well received by audiences leading to working as a compere, model, acting in commercials and other comedy based performances on stage and screen. Winning several comedy awards during this time.
Film roles saw Greg cast in much darker villainous roles such as the seedy Theo in 'The Chain' , psychopathic serial killer Samuel in 'Samuel', sadistic Colby in Shakespeare classic 'King Lear' and 'Boville' in mini-series 'The Count of Monte Cristo' Directed by Bille August. As well as further comedic film roles like Bob in 'Sham Love' and Patrick in 'My Eyes See No Difference'.
