Oleksandr Zherebko was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. He is a Ukrainian film, television and theatre director, actor, TV presenter and researcher in the field of cinema and television.
Zherebko received professional education in Ukraine and abroad, graduating from Hollywood Film School (USA), the Institute of Television, Cinema and Theatre of Kyiv International University, Kyiv University of Culture, and later completing postgraduate studies at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
His professional career includes television projects, music videos, advertising campaigns and concert productions. He was the main director of one of the leading Romanian TV channels. He has repeatedly directed "Eurovision". He was also a VJ and host of a music chart show on the Ukrainian-Dutch TV channel "SMASH!TV".
As an actor, he is known for both dramatic and comedic roles. Due to his expressive facial acting and comic style, audiences and media have nicknamed him the "Ukrainian Mr. Bean".
In theatre, Oleksandr Zherebko made his directing debut with the play "The Heir" (Ukrainian: "Spadkoiemets"), staged at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre. The production became the first Ukrainian theatre project to incorporate aroma dramaturgy as part of the audience experience.
In 2006, he ran for parliament and was one of the youngest candidates in the history of Ukraine. In the same year, he received the "Grand Prix-Mobile Film Festival Award" in the "Best Video" category at the first Mobile Film Festival in Ukraine.
Oleksandr Zherebko became the face of the supermarket chain "KOLO". On the eve of 2020, he appeared as the "Golden Santa Claus" at the Caravan Outlet shopping centre in Kyiv, Ukraine.
He is a laureate of the National Rating "Top 100 Outstanding Men of Kyiv Region" and the "Celebrity Awards 2020". He is also the recipient of the "Bardak Film Fest-Special Award" for contribution to cinema and television arts.
Oleksandr Zherebko was awarded the diploma "Pride of Kyiv Region" for significant achievements in professional career and community service, ethics and nobility, sincere friendship and effective cooperation, and for being a worthy example to society.
