Mathew Young is an Australian director, cinematographer, and producer based in Los Angeles. He is the founder and creative director of Young One Studio, a production company focused on performance-driven narrative films, commercials, music videos, and cinematic showcase scenes.
Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Young trained at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts before building a career spanning directing, cinematography, producing, writing, and performance. He founded Young One Studio in Melbourne in 2015 and expanded the company to Los Angeles in 2018.
Young’s directing credits include The Baby Clause, his feature directorial debut, as well as Juno: Time Bounty Hunter, High Stakes, Players, Ex Affliction, and The Out-Fit. As a cinematographer, his credits include Single Mother by Choice, Spark, Sariah, and numerous independent feature and episodic productions.
His work has received festival recognition and multiple awards and nominations. Known for combining emotionally grounded performances with cinematic visual storytelling, Young continues to develop feature films and premium narrative projects through Young One Studio.
