- Aleis Work is an Actress by Desire and a Swiss Army Knife by Necessity.
It only took Aleis eight years of life and one school musical to realize she wanted to be performing forever. By her senior year of high school she had taken to the stage and screen at every opportunity. On top of that, she served as a State and International Thespian Officer for the Educational Theatre Association. Her work across the United States organizing conventions, writing workshops, and teaching other young thespians how to advocate for themselves is near to her heart.
At eighteen Aleis moved out to Los Angeles with bright eyes and empty pockets- a recipe for disaster. In the wise words of Kelly Clarkson, however, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." While working long hours as a restaurant manager, Aleis still found time to audition for and book great roles such as 'Lily Procter' in "Dangerous" and 'Kristen' in "Sane Men." Her performance as 'Kristen' won her the honor of 'Best New Actor/Actress" at Hollywood Shorts Fest 2023.
During the long years of working in both film and food service, though, Aleis began to wonder if there was overlap between what makes a good restaurant manager and the skills needed to be a film producer. Luckily, Jacob Dalton and Adam Moses of the indie production company "Hot Lunch Productions" decided to take a chance on her theory and hired her on.
She now uses the accumulated skills from all walks of her life as a production coordinator, producer, and pursues her creative passion- starring in cool art that matters.
