Sanghamitra Bharali , an artist, hails from a very distinguished family of Guwahati (Assam,India).Sanghamitra is the only female child of an ardent and committed Freedom Fighter, a Gandhian , the ex-advisor of the ministry of mining, the ministry of human resources, the ministry of agriculture, A national award winner and prolific Hindi & Assamese writer of repute , Shri Loknath Bharali , now an inhabitant of Guwahati . Shri Loknath Bharali had researched the work of Sant Kabir Das and Mahapurush Srimant Shankardev , a saint , in the B.H.U ( the Banaras Hindu University).
Ever since her childhood, Sanghamitra was influenced by her father , who was a man of very clean principles. She has evinced a keen interest in the performing arts, Showing a lot of promise. Music has been her first love and was in her blood, and hers is a born talent that began to bloom with the passage of the fruitful years . Her Mother , Nirala Bharali ( Who has a musical background and would sing , and play the violin and the organ , and had done her M.A. In Hindi ) , was the first teacher in her singing career. This very natural urge has led Sanghamitra to acquire an excellence in the field of classical vocal music, which eventually qualified her for a"Sangeet Nipun" (Masters degree) in Hindustani vocal music, from the Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth , Lucknow.
After completing her masters, Sanghamitra learned classical music from a very famous guru of the Agra-Autroli Gharana , Smt. Kalpana Bhattacharya, in Kolkata.
In Mumbai, Sanghamitra has been trained under the legendary vocalist, Vidushi Kishori Amonkar . In the course of time, the exposition of her inherent talents brought her many laurels and recognitions for her recitals in the state, the national, and the international arenas.
