- Luca Nappa is an award-winning Italian writer-director based in London. He recently completed shadowing director Ben A. Williams on Apple TV's Criminal Record, following a year-long mentorship with BAFTA-winner Jonny Campbell (Westworld, Cold Storage).
His short film Shortage has received multiple awards, including Best Comedy Film at the Portland Comedy Film Festival (2024) and the Georgia Comedy Film Festival (2025), and Best International Director at the Texas Short Film Festival (2025). The film was also acquired for global streaming by Omeleto.
His earlier short, Warriors of Sanità, won the Grand Prize at the Oscar-qualifying Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival (2018) and the Rai Cinema Award at Giffoni (2018), and was acquired by Rai Cinema and Omeleto (2020).
His debut feature, Deep South, was the UK Winner at the JETS Initiative (Berlinale) and shortlisted for the London Production Finance Market (2024).
Trained by Miranda Harcourt (Big Little Lies), Luca is known for his work with non-professional and young performers.
