- Paula Crichton is a queer Mexican filmmaker based in Los Angeles whose work blends visual poetry, metaphor, and social commentary. A graduate of Columbia College Hollywood with a BFA in Film Production and an emphasis in Cinematography, Paula has over five years of experience as a freelance director, cinematographer, and gaffer on award-winning independent projects and has collaborated with clients such as Sony Music Latin, Arista Records, and Spectrum News' LA Stories with Giselle Fernandez, where she received a commemorative Emmy award. Her directorial debut short, The English Rose, premiered at the 2024 Pasadena International Film Festival, winning Best Horror/Thriller and later Best Hair and Makeup at SIMI Film Fest 2025. When not on set, Paula enjoys reading history, writing, drinking tea, and spending time with her two cats, all while remaining devoted to building a more inclusive film industry.
