Biography

  • Jonathan Leiter is a voice actor and content creator living in the greater Atlanta, GA area. He began exploring film and film history at the age of 4 due to his mother's love of Hollywood classics and her love for Star Wars. At age 7, Jonathan would be inspired by the 1980s televised documentaries of the Star Wars films, and attempted to create his own shot-for-shot remake of "The Empire Strikes Back," using everything from blankets, old coats, Star Wars actions figures, and Legos. He soon discovered stop-motion animation, which was experiencing a boom in the early-2000s, and crafted several short films which were entered into the Kalamazoo Animation Festival in 2002, 2003, and 2005.

In 2006 and 2007, Jonathan created several films for school projects, each of which would expand his skills and experience in both acting and visual effects. This is also when the interest in crafting unique voices and impersonations began, shortly after Youtube was launched to the world. Developing new voices and a range of voices became its own dedicated hobby, something which Jonathan would soon put to use in commissioned work for outside projects. Jonathan considers his strongest influence in voice acting to be the work of cartoon and radio star, Paul Frees; along with Frank Welker, Rob Paulson, and the endlessly talented Cory Burton. As of today, Jonathan has cultivated a variety of character voices, ranging from quirky, to silly, to sinister, where the texture of the voice is of utmost importance to the final performance.

He recently wrapped production on a new radio drama called "Demon Truck," where he portrays the titular villain. He also recorded ADR for an Imperial Officer in an upcoming Star Wars fan film. And he's now preparing for his turn as another fan favorite in a fan production of a popular DC character (details to come).
