Evelyn Foster was born on September 21, 1928 in The Bronx, New York, USA. She was an actress, known for NET Playhouse (1964). She was married to Lucius Foster and Raymond Francis Mazur. She died on May 13, 2019 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Mother of Cindy Foster Jones, Connie Foster, Buddy Foster and Jodie Foster.

Had two of her four children out of wedlock. Her eldest daughter, Cindy Foster Jones, was born six months before she married Lucius and her youngest daughter, Jodie Foster, was born three years after she divorced Lucius.

Was a lesbian. Acccording to son Buddy Foster's memoir "Foster Child" (1997), this fact destroyed her marriage to Lucius Foster. Brandy raised their children with a live-in girlfriend named Josephine Dominguez Hill. Youngest daughter Alicia Foster was renamed Jodie Foster after Josephine, who was known as "Jo D".

In a 1976 interview, she claimed to have married Lucius in 1953. However, marriage records reveal they did not actually marry until 1955.

She was the daughter of Josie Almond. Her mother was born in Rockford, Winnebago, Illinois.
