As a wrestler, he was 2x Tennessee Tag Team Champion with Dutch Mantell, a 1x NWA United States (Tennessee) Tag Team Champion with Dutch Mantel, and a 1x NWA Gulf Coast (Southern Alabama) Tag Team Champion with Sir Edward Heath as The British Bulldogs. He is best known for his time as a heel manager in Stampede Wrestling. His stable Foley's Army included Bad News Allen (Allen Coage), Kerry Brown, Big Daddy Ritter (better known as The Junkyard Dog, real name Sylvester Ritter), The Dynamite Kid (Tommy Billington), Loch Ness (Giant Haystacks), The Mongolian Stomper (Archie Gouldie), Duke Myers, Ron Starr, Les Thornton, Leo Burke, Athol Foley (Bernie Wright playing Foley's "son"), Hubert Gallant, David Schultz, The Kiwis (Nick Carter and Sweet William, better known as The Sheepherders or The Bushwhackers, Butch Miller and Luke Williams (Butch Miller)), Honky Tonk Wayne (Wayne Farris) and others. He passed away from lung cancer in 1988.
