- Pedro Morán's restaurant, Casa Gerardo, was established in 1882. He is the 4th generation of his family to operate the restaurant and is considered to be the pioneer of star-quality cuisine in the north region of Spain in the province of Asturias. It was important for him to make his restaurant a landmark of Spanish cuisine and he has developed a culinary style that is centered on a respect for local produce. His fascination with gastronomy centers on a desire to uphold tradition but also to modernize it. Casa Gerardo has won a Michelin star and a "three suns" award by the Respol Guide.
