Cate obtained a degree with the Makeup Design Program at Vancouver Film School in 2016. They worked in the BC film community as a PA for a short time and then into the creature shops of the area where they share a makeup and hair styling Emmy with the team that worked on 'Aliens Stole my Body'. In 2020 they started their own makeup effects shop under the name Spiral FX. Working out of Alberta Canada, Cate is now the head of the makeup department at Deadmonton Haunted House and working in the growing Alberta film community.
