Ram Kamal Mukherjee is best known for his coffee-table book on actress Hema Malini, Hema Malini Diva Unveiled (2005) becoming the youngest Bollywood biographer in India at the age of 27. Ram Kamal later joined the tabloid Mumbai Mirror as an Assistant Editor. His column "Ram Katha" he established him as a noted journalist and film critic. He worked as the Chief Media Strategist and Vice-President of Pritish Nandy Communications, an entertainment, news and media content corporation, and a maker of Indian movies, based in Mumbai. He has also contributed as a columnist to Mid-Day and several other publications. He brings with him 16 years of experience in film journalism.

Ex-editor of Illustrated Weekly and noted film producer Pritish Nandy signed Ram Kamal as the Vice President for Pritish Nandy Communications. PNC is known for making niche cinema and Ram Kamal worked in 12 feature films under PNC, All films were screened at various international festivals. He started his film sojourn with Sachin Khot's Ugly Aur Pagly and his last assignment with PNC was Saket Chaudhury's Shaadi Ke Side Effects. He also worked in yet to-be-released ventures like Sayed Akhtar Mirza's Ek Tho Chance, Arindam Mitra's Ek Accident, Saluun and Sudhir Mishra's Aur Devdas.

Ram Kamal worked with Creative Director Rangita Pritish Nandy in PNC on various projects, he was involved in script doctoring, casting lead actors, media and marketing analysis. With Pritish Nandy he spearheaded the marketing and media strategy for his Coffee table book "Again" and art exhibition "BORED". During this time, he freelanced for publications like Mid Day Ananda Bazar Patrika, Anandalok (ABP Group) and TV18 group. In Midday he contributed for HitList and Sunday Midday under the editorship of Sarita Tanwar and Alpana Lath respectively. After four years of successful stint in Pritish Nandy Communications he joined India's leading film magazine Stardust as Editor In Chief

As the editor he worked as a team leader and conducted two successful awards with Colors TV. He closely worked with Raj Nayak from Colors and Mohammad Moorani for Sansui Colours Stardust Awards. He incorporated freshness in the magazine with snappy content, gossips, photo features. He edited 12 regular editions, 12 advertorial supplements and 4 special editions annually. He worked on various other aspects like redesigning the magazine and making it more appealing to younger generation.

Currently Ram Kamal is working on his untitled fiction for Leadstart Publishing. Working as Creative Producer with Rajshree Ojha on her television venture. He is also working on his next biographical book based on a leading lady from Bollywood, He is a blogger with www.bollywoodjournalist.com headed by Soumyadipta Banerjee. He is also mentoring students at Harkishan Mehta Institute of Media, Research and Analysis (HMIMRA) as Guest Faculty for Post Graduate students in Films and Media.

He has almost 1 million followers across social media platform, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
