Biography

  • John Paul Wagner is an American-Irish actor and filmmaker based in London.

On screen, he has appeared in Edgar Wright's The Running Man (Paramount) alongside Josh Brolin and Colman Domingo, Netflix's The Bombing of Pan Am 103 opposite Patrick J. Adams, and the BAFTA-nominated A Spy Among Friends (MGM+/ITV).

His voice work spans commercials for Disney+, Amex GBT, eBay, and Thomson Reuters; the audiobook "Making Rumours"; multiple AAA and Premium AA videogames, and his animated feature debut in "The Last Dinosaur" (premiering Christmas 2026).

As a filmmaker, his credits include the animated children's feature Petite Dreams, The Dojo (a comedic webseries developed for the iO Comedy Network), and the short film The American Dream, official selection at both the San Antonio and Chicago South Asian Film Festivals. He currently has a slate of original projects in development spanning short film, comedy, and feature-length work, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and the quiet distances between the lives we plan and the ones we live.

A graduate of Northwestern University, he spent a decade in Chicago’s management consulting industry while moonlighting at several Chicago improv comedy theatres. He then retrained in London on LAMDA's (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) 2yr MFA, where he resides today.

He is represented in the UK by Carlton West Artists (Theatrical) and Harvey Voices (Voice).
