Biography

Sam Franco is a filmmaker and casting director from Santa Fe, New Mexico, with a versatile career spanning film, television, commercials, and fashion. She earned her BFA in Film from Pratt Institute, where she developed a strong foundation in storytelling and an appreciation for the complexity of human experience. Her short film Routine premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2016. Sam was accepted into the MFA Directing Program at CalArts but chose to defer enrollment to focus on her expanding career in casting. In 2023, her debut feature script, Wrecking Silence, was named a semi-finalist in the ScreenCraft Writing Competition. Now working full-time as a casting director, Sam has contributed to several notable projects, including Perfect, starring Julia Fox, and Edge City, directed by the Ross Brothers.
