Biography

Lauren Keating is a director of narrative film & television, theatre and live events. She is committed to engaging audiences in imaginative, personal and urgent stories told with humor and heart, especially those that put queer characters at the center. Keating made her off-Broadway debut to New York Times acclaim with Josh Koenigsberg's Al's Business Cards. Her work for screens includes the web series The Feminist Cooking Show, which trended on Stareable, and the short thriller Power Out, a Most Selected Short on Film Freeway. Keating has developed work with many organizations, including the Public Theater, Playwrights' Center, Ars Nova, the Guthrie Theater and more. She has been honored with fellowships from Mellon Foundation/TCG, Time Warner Foundation and Drama League. An NYU alum, she works with a variety of Universities in teaching, directing and mentorship capacities.
