Biography

Avery Bagenstos is an actor and multidisciplinary artist originally from Cherokee, Oklahoma. He began performing in stage productions like The 39 Steps and Of Mice and Men, while also competing as a decorated high school athlete. As a junior, he studied Shakespeare through NYU's summer program and later trained with the late Clark Middleton, whose mentorship shaped his approach to classical and character-driven work.

Avery earned Best Actor at the Midtown International Theater Festival for his performance in the original play Locker Room Talk. On screen, he has appeared in Hulu's Into the Dark, Netflix's Moxie, and Apple TV's Sugar, bringing a grounded, physical presence to both dramatic and character roles. His creative process draws on Meisner and Strasberg techniques with a Jungian influence, shaped by his lifelong practice of martial arts, trail running, and painting.

In 2025, Avery stars in the feature film The Rattlin' Bog.
