Quotes

  • I come from a family of Congolese origin. I really grew up in a culture where dancing was part of life. Dancing is really like eating, drinking, breathing.
  • I spent my childhood looking through the window. I could see the quiet life in a wealthy suburb. It reminded me of the good life, which was not my life. I became aware of the inequality at a very young age. That we were really poor. There were four of us, we slept in the same room. All the motivation I have in my life is because of that. And that's what gave me the strength and the impulse to dance.
  • Every time i dance, it's like I have flashbacks. It brings up emotions that I felt before. It may be emotions that I had not processed before. That are flowing back. It's not even sadness, it's not even joy. It is a feeling of wholeness.
