Biography

Janvier Katabarwa, born in Rwanda, moved to Montreal, Canada at 19. He engaged in various performance arts, including acting with the Genocide Survivors Students Association (AERG) Theatre troupe Inyamibwa, which focused on commemorating the 1994 genocide against Tutsi. Starting karate at 11, Janvier excelled and became the youngest athlete to join national team. He also extensively trained in kickboxing, Kobudo, and Judo.

Despite studying accounting, Janvier's passion for acting led him to Vancouver, where he aims to provide a platform for remarkable stories from Rwanda's history. His ultimate goal is to portray Rwandan heroes and notable figures such as Yasuke, the black samurai.

Janvier's breakout performance can be seen in "Bullet Proof," where he played The Frenchman and performed his own stunts alongside Vinnie Jones and James Clayton. The film was released globally by Lionsgate and IndustryWorks Studios.
