Mini bio

  • Alfonso José Alvarez, born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, is a seasoned artist manager and educator with over three decades of experience in the music industry. He began his career in Miami, Florida, where he founded Street Dwellaz Promotions, a company that played a pivotal role in securing radio airplay for numerous high-profile artists, including Destiny's Child, Wyclef, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Ice Cube, Master P, and Snoop Dogg.

During his tenure at Priority Records, Alfonso discovered his true passion for artist management. His first major opportunity emerged when Rob Campman (formerly Southstar), a member of his Street Dwellaz team, was offered a record deal. Paired with Smilez, Southstar became one half of the hit-making duo Smilez & Southstar, known for their Top 10 single "Tell Me."

While working with Smilez & Southstar, Alfonso recognized the burgeoning reggaeton scene in Puerto Rico. Confident in the power and influence of the Latino market, he began managing the bilingual boy band Cnote, a journey captured in the web series Cnote: Breaking the Band.

Following years on the road, Alfonso shifted his focus to education. His son, Christopher "Tito JustMusic" Trujillo, had attended F.I.R.S.T. Institute in Orlando, Florida, and Alfonso was inspired by the transformative impact of the school. After reaching out to the owners, he became Director of Administration, where he now shares his extensive industry expertise with music and video production students-preparing them to thrive in the ever-evolving entertainment world.
