Biography

  • Laura Leal is an El Paso, Texas native and Latina producer based in Los Angeles. She produces narrative projects across features, television, and short films, and is drawn to stories she can’t stop thinking about, regardless of genre.

Her credits include the SXSW-premiering feature We're All Gonna Die, which was nominated for an Audience Award. She first joined Hulu and 20th Digital Studio’s Bite Size Halloween as Production Manager on the shorts Clock and Costume Change, and returns to the anthology as Producer on Resonance for Tubi.

Her producing credits also include the sci-fi short VOID, starring Jason Patric and Elizabeth Keener, which won Best Sci-Fi Short at Indie Short Fest and Best Science Fiction at the Chicago Indie Film Awards. The film recently premiered on DUST, the independent sci-fi film platform.

Through Rideback RISE, the creator accelerator founded by Dan Lin, Laura produced the short films Natural Selection and Urinal Revolution. Both films received 2026 festival premieres and Official Selections, with Natural Selection selected for the Austin Micro Film Festival and Shorts International Film Festival, and Urinal Revolution selected for the LALIFF, Broad Humor Film Festival, and Orlando Film Festival.

As a producer, Laura approaches each project as a creative partnership, helping filmmakers bring their stories from script to screen.
