Biography

Carlo is a Brazilian filmmaker based in Porto Alegre, working in the film industry since 2016. He holds a BA in Social Communication with a specialization in Filmmaking (UNISINOS) and an MBA in Audiovisual Production (ESPM/RJ). He currently serves on the board of ADA-RS (2024-2026), the Rio Grande do Sul Assistant Directors Association.

His first short film, Gaiola (2017), screened at festivals in France, Italy, Canada, India, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil, and his work has circulated through key industry festivals and markets such as Gramado, Brasília, Kinoforum, Tiradentes, Cine Serra, and LABRFF.

In 2018, he founded his production company, Lágrima de Crocodilo Filmes. Between 2016 and 2026, he worked on dozens of projects across development, production, and post-production, both in lead roles and as a freelancer.

In 2025, Carlo expanded his international work as an assistant director, including UK commercial productions and the Italian feature Ritorno a Buenos Aires (dir. Marco Bechis), shot across Argentina, Brazil, and Italy.

In 2026, he is focusing on directing and producing his own projects-all currently in post-production-including three fiction shorts and a documentary feature, edited by a UK-based team.
