Aigli Drakou is a Greek cinematographer and visual storyteller whose work moves fluidly between narrative and documentary filmmaking. With an artistic background rooted in music, photography, and cinema, she approaches cinematography as a synthesis of sound, movement, light, and emotion. She studied Photography and Audiovisual Arts at the Athens University of Applied Arts and Culture and spent more than a decade working as a freelance photographer, participating in exhibitions and collaborative art projects. She later transitioned into film, gaining extensive experience as an assistant camera operator on feature films, documentaries, and commercials alongside prominent Greek and international cinematographers. In recent years, she has worked as a Director of Photography, focusing on projects that explore identity, atmosphere, and the poetic tension between reality and imagination. Her films have received awards and distinctions at festivals in Greece and internationally, including AGON, AegeanDocs, Beyond Borders, West Side Mountains Doc Festival, and the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.
