Biography

Thomas Beatty is a Belfast-born writer and director, based between London and Belfast. He began his career on stage in Ireland before transitioning into film, with credits including Pugilist, Caledonia, and Water Over Blood. His award-winning directorial debut, the dark comedy The Hook, is set for release in 2026 and has already picked up multiple festival awards during its early screenings. Alongside writing and directing, Thomas also produces, creating stories that are bold, character-driven, and unapologetically original.
