Naseer Khanday is a filmmaker and producer from Kashmir whose work explores resilience, identity, displacement, and social political realities through character-driven storytelling. His debut feature documentary Iron Khan (2020) a seven-year portrait of a former JKLF commander who chose non-violence and built a life cooking for strangers in Gulmarg, screened at IDFA, Cinema Vérité, Film South Asia, and Dharamshala International Film Festival, winning Best Film on Humanity at the International Film Festival of Sriganganagar, Best Documentary at the Kashmir International Film and Cultural Festival, Best Documentary at the Delta International Film Festival, and Best Documentary at the Karukrit International Film Festival, Himachal Pradesh.
His short documentary Beyond the Border (2021) premiered at the Venice Film Festival and screened at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
He is completing Charming Creatures, a feature documentary filmed over seven years inside an international artistic community in coastal Goa, centered on an Iraqi musician in exile. He has also developed his fiction feature The Wisdom Stone through the Berlin AiR Program, supported by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and the Nipkow Program.
His work is distinguished by its long-term engagement with communities and socially conscious storytelling.
