Biography

Sylvia was born and raised in Orange County, California, by German immigrants. She has lived in London, England and worked and lived throughout Southern Germany and Greater Los Angeles.

Sylvia is fluent in Swabian and Standard German. She has an MFA in Screenwriting and believes it is never too late to have a happy childhood.

For many years, she has worked in Live Technical Theatre Production primarily as a Sound Designer/Engineer, College Faculty, University Theatre Sound Specialist, Performer and Writer. She has worn many other hats in Lighting, Wardrobe, ASM, as a Rigger and Carpenter as well as Music Video Children's Choreographer. Her skills and experience have helped earn her accolades in fundraising activities for LOSNA and Pasadena Shriner's Childrens Medical Center.

A couple of her favorite memories are working with the band Styx in a fundraiser in Toronto, Canada, Stage Managing/Technical Directing Pete Byrne (Naked Eyes) at the Nokia Theatre in New York and Camera Operator/Sound/Choreographer/Co-Director for the Children's Bellflower Advanced Chorus Independent Music Films 2006 through 2015, Bellflower USD, California.

Sylvia has been a Script Reader for Screen Writer's Network and is a proud founding member of the German-American Business Association (GABA)-Film Initiative as well as a Full-Voting Member of AES (Audio Engineering Society). She is part owner of Legion M.

In her spare time, she enjoys writing, music, cooking new recipes, long walks, old films, swimming, over-analyzing and laughing with friends.
