Hawley was born in Dallas, Texas, to Catherine Hawley (Holmes) and Thomas Hawley. He was the youngest of three boys. His mother sold insurance and his dad held a position at the Veterans Hospital. Because of the two incomes, Hawley lived a fairly comfortable life financially but he was becoming emotionally disconnected because of the domestic marital abuse. The marital woes and family violence contributed to the early development of childhood stomach ulcers.

He together with two ex wives produced seven children. Because of the complexity and irresolvability of his first marriage, Lamonte obtained sole custody of the five kids from that union and he has joint custody of the two from the second union. He has united the siblings from both unions by using them in various projects. Lamonte Hawley Jr. was responsible for cinematography of the movie Trigger'd (2016) and Homlis (2016) and Joy Hawley acted in both movies. His oldest daughter Brittney Hawley aside from singing and acting in the video Whisper'd she assist on set with make up and wardrobe. Briana Hawley is in charge of lighting and effects. Catrina Hawley has acted in both of the films that were produced in 2016. The last two children, Sabrina Hawley and Montrell Hawley is part of the cast of Homlis (2016).
