Best known for his cerebral, often thought-provoking, creative storytelling, writer-director and cinematographer Francisco Matias was born August 6, 1987 in California. At age 14, Francisco started making student film projects with his high school friends Sony dvcam making sci-fi action thriller short movies for friends and family. In 2012 he started and co-wrote a YouTube channel, produced and directed over 40 short films, studying the psychological and thriller genres he directed, wrote, and controlled the more subjective and compelling story lines out of the two man team. Concentrating on the imaginative and experimental side of his studies, he branched off and began work on his first sci-fi thriller, Hadron, (2016). As co-director and main Cinematographer, Francisco learned his guerrilla style filmography that would later help interest and challenge him to further his abilities in his next film, DE - a documentary on Depression, (2019). Francisco took the helm of directing and filming the life of those affected by depression, centered around youth and their exposure to the world. The movie depicts the taboo topic of what it is like to deal with clinical depression post diagnosis. As he followed his muse based on the true events and story of Deanna, Francisco took his film with emphasis on the human condition. The turning point in his early career came from the idea that based on previous projects, Francisco has rooted much of his endeavors with grounded topics from preceding films that would push his skills to the next level, carving out his creative possibilities. He pitched his next project to two head writers Sharif S. and Jeremiah S. respectfully. There they spent the next year writing his latest movie project code named "Goodnight."
