Biography

Luqi Zhao is a Los Angeles-based film editor, assistant editor, and member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild (MPEG). Luqi holds an MFA in Film Editing from the AFI Conservatory and a BA in Film Studies from UNCW. A Film Independent Project Involve Fellow, she has also participated in Indeed's Rising Voices and Disney's Launchpad. Her work across narrative features, documentaries, and shorts has earned recognition at prestigious festivals including San Sebastián, Palm Springs ShortFest, Dances With Films, and LA Shorts. Driven by a passion for thought-provoking storytelling, Luqi aims to craft films that challenge and inspire audiences to think critically about their lived experiences and the world around them.
