Kate Blackmore(V)

Kate Blackmore is an Australian filmmaker whose work has been presented across broadcast, theatrical and contemporary art contexts. She has written and directed over 25 short arts documentaries for the ABC, including the Walkley Award nominated contemporary dance series The Movement. In 2018, Blackmore was awarded the Hive commission to make The Woman and The Car, a hybrid documentary about iconic Australian artist Margaret Dodd. The film was produced by Bridget Ikin (Felix Media) and financed by Adelaide Film Festival, Screen Australia and the ABC. Blackmore's debut feature documentary Make it Look Real is due to be released in 2024. Blackmore is also a founding member of acclaimed artist collective Barbara Cleveland whose screen-based work has been exhibited internationally and is included in major museum collections across Australia.
