She is the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Film Puraskar, one of the highest honors in Indian cinema, which recognizes her outstanding contribution through her debut feature film Daal Roti. Produced by Salim Akhtar under Aftab Pictures Pvt. Ltd., the film has been showcased at several prominent national and international film festivals, including IFFA Alberta 2024, the Asian Talent International Film Festival, the Goa International Film Festival, ISFFA Film Festival, Fest5 International Film Festival, and the Global Independent Film Festival of India.
Her work on Daal Roti has earned her multiple accolades, such as the Best Debut Director Award at the International Panorama Film Festival of Bengaluru, Mumbai Independent Film Festival (MIFF), Goa International Film Competition, Global India International Film Festival, and Jalgaon International Film Festival. She also received the Best Director Award at the Global Indian Film Festival, the Best Female Director Award at the Asian Talent International Film Festival, and the Best Feature Film Award at the Global Independent Film Festival of India. Coming from a background in zoology with a B.Sc. degree, Julee Jasmin transitioned into cinema with a fresh and socially conscious approach to storytelling.
