Biography

Kayla Stanton was born in 1988, and she is an Australian actor, who was born and raised in Sydney. She is of English and Scottish decent. Kayla discovered her love of the theatre as a young girl. Her first role on stage was in her primary school circus production where she dazzled the audience of moms and dads playing the Ringmaster. After studying both drama and classical singing throughout high school, Kayla studied her craft further at Western Sydney University, completing a Bachelor of Communication with a sub-major in Performance in 2009. She then went on to complete the CORE program at what was then known as the Actor's College of Theatre and Television in 2011. She then decided to pursue her screen craft further, and was accepted in to NIDA's prestigious Screen Actor's Studio in 2013.

Kayla's industry break came when she decided to move to Vancouver, Canada in 2016, with dreams of working on international screen projects. The move was a risk that paid off! She booked her first professional audition in the new city, a speaking role on Netflix's popular TV series Lucifer in 2017. She then worked on the fan favourite CW TV series Supernatural in a recurring role playing the quirky Jessica the Reaper in 2017 and 2018. Kayla then went on to star in the Canadian independent feature film Amber's Descent, with her performance being praised with a nomination for Best Actress at the Genre Celebration Festival in 2020.

Kayla is no stranger to genre work. Her characters love a good scream! Having screamed for much of her time on the set of Amber's Descent, Kayla first discovered her passion for a blood curdling scream in a high school production of Arthur Miller's The Crucible playing Abigail Williams.

Kayla booked her first professional audition in Vancouver, Canada, and booked a speaking role on the popular Netflix TV series Lucifer.

Kayla dislocated her rib playing piano four days before shooting commenced on Amber's Descent. Curtailing the film's table read, Kayla soldiered on and came to set on day one of the shoot as originally intended.
