Alexandra (Sasha) Strunin is a Polish director and audiovisual artist of Ukrainian-Russian descent. With a formal background in visual arts, having graduated in Photography from the University of Fine Arts in Poznan, she is currently pursuing a degree in Film Directing at the Warsaw Film School.
Her narrative directorial debut, the short film 'I Gaze at the Sky' ('Patrze w niebo'), achieved widespread international festival success. The film garnered several prestigious accolades, most notably winning Best International Short Film at the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival, alongside the Grand Prize for Student Narrative Short at the March On! Festival in Washington, D.C.
Prior to focusing on film directing, Strunin worked extensively as a vocalist and performer, and directed a variety of music videos. She is currently presenting her second short film, 'My Name is Joy', a character-driven drama inspired by true events.
