Shylie Hill

Shylie grew up in Tweed Heads in Northern New South Wales. She always had aspirations of becoming a costume designer. Straight out of high school; she studied Clothing Production at Tafe. She had to put these aspirations on hold to become a single mother. It was many years later; during the pre-production of her partner's maiden feature film that she decided to enrol in the Australian Academy of Cinemagraphic Make Up, in order to have the necessary skills to be Head Of Make Up Department during the Production phase of this film; Alfa Maschi. As a requirement for photo shoots and assignments at AACM; she had to make costumes for characters during achieving her diploma in Cinemagraphic Make Up. It was during the study at this prestigious institution that her costume making and styling passion was reignited. She also had the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the industries most decorated figures and learned invaluable skills from them. Shylie's role in the film Alfa Maschi was completed in August 2015, she completed her course at AACM in December 2015. After enjoying these challenges; she realised her potential. She left her job in hospitality and took on the role of Costume Assistant and Makeup Artist for Village Roadshow theme parks. The flow on effect was exponential - Shylie worked as a Make Up Assistant on a Hollywood Blockbuster film that was partly shot on the Gold Coast. After this she collaborated with many Photographers having been published in numerous international magazines. Taking out First place at the "Battle of the Brushes" competition at IMATS 2016 (International makeup artist trade show) in the Beauty/fantasy category was a huge milestone for her and her career. Continuously obtaining more credits and experience under her belt, her career is quickly moving forward. The sky is the limit.
