Sam Jeffery is a Canadian actor, intimacy coordinator, award-winning fight director & intimacy director, and educator based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Born and raised in amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton, Alberta) on Treaty 6 territory, she trained as an actor at the University of Alberta, graduating from the BFA Acting program.
Sam has since built a multidisciplinary career spanning film, television, and theatre, working both in front of the camera and behind the scenes as a movement specialist and advocate for performers. An intimacy professional since 2017, she is a certified Intimacy Coordinator (IC) and Intimacy Director (ID) with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC). She is a member of UBCP/ACTRA and the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association.
In addition to her screen work, Sam has an extensive background in theatre as a fight director, intimacy director, and creator. She has choreographed stage combat and intimacy for productions ranging from contemporary drama to Shakespeare, collaborating with theatre companies and festivals across Canada. Her work has earned multiple nominations and awards, including the 2024/2025 Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Outstanding Fight Direction and Intimacy Direction in recognition of her work on "Brick Shithouse" (Fenceless Theatre/Common Ground Arts).
