  • A recovering senior copywriter & Cannes Young Lions winner, novelist (Harper Collins) and journalist with contributions to The Guardian, Broadcast Magazine, The Scottish Herald, The Bookseller & Women's Weekly, Lorelei moved into comedy in 2008. Prior to this she wrote, directed and produced the award winning short film, 'Recalculating'.

    Blessed with an ADHD brain, she is the creator of international sketch comedy collective Melon Comedy: sketches from a Neurodiverse Universe, and works with The Square Hole Initiative: a call to arms to TVland to showcase more neurodiverse sketch & screenwriters, and to adapt submission guidelines and bursary applications to make them more accessible for non-neurotypical processing.

    Lorelei has been interviewed about the initiative by BBC Radio Scotland, Radio 5 Drive Time, Jeremy Vine Show BBC2 & The Guardian. She was invited o speak on the panel at the Edinburgh Television Festival about the scheme in 2023, and prior to this, was a 'Future Leaders' winner at Creative Equals 2019.

    Melon Comedy's short film 'Creative Writing 2:1' about the horrors of modern dating & texting, written by Lorelei and directed by Peter Lydon ('Shameless', 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl', 'Mistresses') was Runner Up for Funny Women Best Short Film in 2022 and won the Industry Award at Comedy Crowd Chorts in 2023.

    'Cake', took the Fulwell 73 & Comedy 5050 Shorts Competition award in 2021, and Lorelei was subsequently awarded The TV Foundation/Comedy5050 Bursary & Mentorship at Edinburgh TV Festival 2022.

    Lorelei joined the Writer's Room for for BBC4 Radio's 'DM's Are Open' 2023 season and is developing her Sitcom, adapted from her novel, Break Up Club, 2024.
