- Luca Tramontin was born in Belluno, northern Italy, on 22.02.1966, growing up in the Veneto region of the country.
Since childhood he showed a strong passion for sports (Hockey and Rugby in particular), rock music (Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Bowie and Black Sabbath in particular), and animals.
Before "The Legacy Run", he made his living and national fame on Sports and Media, starting as a guest, becoming Writer in 1996 and becoming a Sportitalia - Eurosport commentator and anchor since 2004. He has also worked for SBS Australia, RSI Switzerland, Mediaset, Sky and Tele+,
He holds degrees in both Foreign Languages and Literature and Classic Letters and Philology.
After the junior ranks of Belluno Rugby, he reached Italian first division with Rugby Casale in 1985 and Hungarian national team (being eligible through his paternal grandmother) in 2007, being the oldest international debutante ever, and the only sportsman affected by "Thalidomide" (his deformity at the right hand) to reach this achievement. The match against Austria happened while he was a long time well known commentator and has therefore been widely covered and broadcast.
In 2008 he left Rugby Union to embrace Ice Hockey and Australian Football, reaching a call for the national team at Samobor Eurocup and gaining 9 caps at 46 years old.
In Italy and Europe he is well known for hundreds of TV commentaries about Hockey, Rugby, Cricket and Gaelic Sports and for the several magazines he anchored with "The Legacy Run" co-star Daniela Scalia.
Humor, rock and a deep care for animals and disabled people are a steady feat in the couple's work which is also famous for creating the first form of full-contact rugby for heavily disabled people "Orules Rugby".
