Biography

Billy Hobson is a Senior Colorist at Harbor Picture Company in Santa Monica, CA. Working in all genres, from feature films and documentaries, to TV and commercials, Billy launched his career as a colorist in 2015 with the boutique Shed LA, honing his skills under the guidance of world renowned colorist, Yvan Lucas. Along with his skills as a finishing artist, he also brings an engineering background to his skill set, first working at Panavision Hollywood as prep floor manager, testing film and digital gear and training associates on camera technology and workflow. Following that, a role at Technicolor where he served as the Director of Support Engineering for On Location Services, managing production pipeline, as well as training colorists on technique, imaging science, and workflow in the field and facility, while also acting as a technical liaison between production/dailies and DI/VFX finishing artists.
