  • Andrea Santiago studied Audiovisual Arts at the University of Guadalajara. She has worked as a cinematographer and writer in Uriel and Jade (2016) a documentary short film screened at the Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana, Sheffield DocFest, Guadalajara International Film Festival and Morelia International Film Festival. She is the writer and director of photography of Under the Sun (2017), awarded with the Prix Révélation at the Cinélatino Rencontres Toulouse and screened at the Semaine de la Critique du Festival de Cannes. Ahead (2020) a stop motion short film, was her first work as director and it was part of the official selection at the 53º Sitges - Festival International de Cine Fantástico de Catalunya, Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana and Morelia International Film Festival. In 2021 she was nominated for best mexican animated short film to the Ariel Award 2021 by the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences. Her recent short film, Back to San Pedro (2021) was produced by the Mexican Cinematography Institute. It was part of the main competition at the Morelia International Film Festival and ShortsMexico. Nowadays, she is developing her first feature film.
