Joshua Ausley is an ICG Local 600 Director of Photography shooting commercials and films around the globe. He has shot 12 feature films, episodic TV series, documentaries with over 20 festival wins including Tribeca premieres, and Emmy award-winning commercials.
A graduate of Elon University, he started out in front of the camera as talent while living in Japan for several years, achieving fluency in Japanese. Returning to the US, he moved to Atlanta and began filming marketing and promotional ads for Disney, HBO, Starz, AppleTV, Netflix and Hulu among many others.
Now as a DP in the International Cinematographer's Guild, Josh shoots television commercials, documentaries, films, music videos, and branded content videos. He has worked with HBO, Vanity Fair, Redken, Disney / Marvel Studios, Netflix, Hulu, HBO, American Airlines, the NBA, Porsche, Serta, Lipton Tea, Discovery, ITV, Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz and many more. He has traveled to over 30 countries and shot in Europe, Japan, India, Nepal, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean.
Josh is a PADI and SSI Master Scuba diver with specialty experience filming underwater in both controlled and open-water environments. He also holds black belts in Isshin-Ryu Karate and Judo, making him a specialist in shooting fight scenes as well.
