Bhulla Beghal is an award-winning British filmmaker, producer, and writer with a strong focus on documentary and narrative storytelling. Based in the Midlands, he is the founder of BlueBell Films, where he has led impactful projects across film, television, and branded content. His work frequently explores themes of identity, community, and social change, with a particular emphasis on real-world stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
Bhulla has won multiple Royal Television Society Awards, and his films have been officially selected for numerous film festivals, including Aesthetica Film Festival and London Indian Film Festival. His ability to craft authentic, emotionally powerful narratives has also led him to collaborate with major public sector and charity organisations.
Bhulla is in development of a multi-generational drama series exploring immigrant ambition, family dynamics, and cultural identity. Alongside this, he is directing a documentary about one of the last grassroots textiles factories in Birmingham and the Black Country, an intimate project that connects his filmmaking with his personal heritage. He is also a BAFTA Connect member and serves on multiple boards.
