Biography

A New York City native by birth and now a Hudson Valley resident, Joseph Fisher has been a part of the entertainment industry since 2014 both on screen and behind the scenes. His personal achievements include being the father of two, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force as well as recently retiring from the NYPD in the rank of Detective after 25 years of distinguished service. His professional certifications and training include Law Enforcement, WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) Response and Mitigation, Hazardous Materials Technician, Certified NYS, DOD, USAF Instructor, Firearms (over 30 years of experience), Special Operations, Emergency Management as well as Emergency Medical Technician. Fisher is the owner of Cop Prop Rentals of NY, a theatrical prop and costume rental house specializing in Law Enforcement props and costumes, which he has owned and operated since its inception in 2014. His on screen work includes acting and appearing in multiple movies, television shows and indie projects, often bringing his real world experiences in to his roles portraying law enforcement officers. Behind the scenes, he started as a Production Assistant and worked his way up to working as a Set Medic, Prop Master, Technical Advisor, Actor and Armorer. Through his own work and that of his company, Cop Prop Rentals of NY, he has been a part of over 250 productions, credited and uncredited, since 2014. Due to his professional experiences, training, knowledge and commitment to safety on and off set, Fisher has been featured in over 100 interviews, news segments, entertainment programs and print media globally discussing the importance of safety procedures, protocols and practices in the entertainment industry working with prop firearms. He brings the same passion for safety on set each and every time as well as in front of the classroom as adjunct instructor for the Prop Guns Set Safety Workshops and instructor for Below The Line Bootcamps.
