Biography

  • Paola Madrigal is a chameleonic Mexican actress with a fresh and captivating presence. Originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, with a career spanning more than 20 years in theater, as well as in film and TV. She lives in Mexico City and recently participated in the new season of "Mujeres Asesinas", "Archivo Muerto" and "Lo que callamos las mujeres", as well as in the series "Súbete a mi moto" and "Los Ricos también lloran". Madrigal has also starred in several short films including "La Tregua", "Lo que vales", "Silencio" and "La Puta Cafetera". Given her exceptional ability to imitate Hispanic American accents, Paola was chosen to be the face of the campaign "It's not you, it's your language", launched by Larousse Latin America.

In 2023 Paola celebrated the 10 years anniversary of her one-women show, "Debotas al Vótox", in which she plays six characters including two males. This hilarious dark comedy takes place in a plastic surgeon's office and is about the stereotypes society imposes on women regarding beauty. She has performed her show in New York, Boston, Mexico and San Diego, where she was given the Outstanding Actor award at the International Fringe Festival. She also received the Best Actress award from the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers and another award as Best Actress for her performance in "Hotel K", a play that also was a part of the Short + Sweet Festival, in Hollywood.

Paola also starred the play "Qaddafi's Cook", for which she received rave reviews in New York, San Diego, Hollywood and Sausalito. Recently she appeared in the brutal dark comedy "El Pecado Mejor Cometido", as Chastity, milking the most uncomfortable moments eliciting uproarious laughter from the audience.

When not in front of the camera, Paola spends time on set coaching actors which has provided her a wider perspective of her own craft. These projects include Mosquito Coast (season 2), Promesas de Campaña y Las Azules.
