Biography

Alexandra (Alexa) L. Borden is a film and theatre composer from Philadelphia, PA. She studied music composition at both Berklee College of Music and Moravian University, and was a recipient of the Graduate Merit Award Scholarship to attend Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her MFA in Music Composition for the Screen. Alexa's work has been featured on PBS, Prime and more. She is the executive director of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, and has served as treasurer for the Female Composer Safety League. Alexa was part of the 2024 VIFF Amp Cohort, and is a 2024 and 2025 mentor for the ScreenCraft Works Cross-Border Mentoring Scheme. Popular films include Balloon Animal, Limerence, Static Space, Kiss on Candy Cane Lane, and upcoming feature film, The Designer, starring Gina Gershon and Ethan Slater.
