Biography

Shorouk El Attar is an esteemed Egyptian film producer and founder of Yotta Productions, a Cairo-based production service company. With nearly 15 years of experience, she is recognized for her versatility across fiction, factual, and non-scripted works, and for her proven ability to manage large-scale productions both locally and internationally. Her collaborations span major local and global networks, including Netflix, Discovery, and other leading international broadcasters.

When Shorouk founded Yotta Productions, she was answering a call from an old love-filmmaking. Her passion for cinema began early in life and guided her to study Mass Communication and Film at the American University in Cairo, where she laid the foundation for a career dedicated to storytelling. She further honed her craft while working with Video Cairo Sat, a leading international news agency, covering stories across Egypt-an experience that strengthened her storytelling voice, sharpened her eye for detail, and taught her agility under pressure.

Shorouk's portfolio spans acclaimed projects recognized on the world stage. She served as art director on Yomeddine (2018), which competed for the Palme d'Or at Cannes and won the François Chalais Prize. She worked as local producer on Voyage en Barbarie (2014), a documentary that won Best Documentary at the New York Film Festival, the Prix Albert-Londres, and the FIPA Grand Prix. She was also local producer on Netflix's Unknown: The Lost Pyramid (2023), nominated for two Emmy Awards in Cinematography and Sound. Her credits further include the long-running Egyptian talk show Sahibet Alsaada, the international game show Ninja Warrior, the Saudi feature film Fay's Palette, and Discovery's adventure series Expedition Unknown: Egypt Live.
