- Matilda Freeman is an English actress from Cheshire, United Kingdom. Her career began at nine-years-old after she fell into acting by accident when an open call audition came through her school for a BBC series in 2013. Following several rounds of auditions, to her surprise, Matilda ultimately made it down to the final two for the lead role despite having never acted before. Following her near-success she then decided to try and pursue acting professionally to which she quickly began booking work. Matilda is best known for her roles as Maria in Netflix’s How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, Lilly Wells in ITV’s Passenger and Summer Spellman in ITV soap opera Coronation Street for which she was nominated for Best Young Actor at The British Soap Awards in 2018.
She will soon appear as Sophie Madsen in ITV’s new highly anticipated, six-part drama series The Blame, scheduled for release in Autumn 2026.
