- Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, Inês Oliveira has lived her life between Portugal, UK, Spain and most recently in Los Angeles, U.S.A. This has allowed her to explore her work and education through different languages and to relish herself in the merging of different cultures. After obtaining the International Baccalaureate Degree, Inês returned to the UK to achieve a 1st in her 'Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance' at the University of Leeds. During these three years, she also performed in student-led productions, some of which were then taken to the Leeds Fringe Festival and also performed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
Inês' training derives from a theatrical background. Her training is heavily based in Stanislavsky and Meisner techniques, as well as others. She is also trained in Physical, Immersive and Environmental Theatre. In 2011 Inês was accepted into the National Youth Theatre in the U.K. Here, she worked with Alison Bomber, senior Text and Voice Coach at the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as other leading industry professionals. Following her university graduation in 2014, Inês moved to the North of Spain to participate in Hugh Hudson's feature film Altamira.
Since February 2015 Inês has been living and studying in Los Angeles, exploring Film and TV acting. Following an intense two-month workshop, Inês was offered a talent scholarship to do a post-graduate study at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. During this period, she has played the lead in short films whilst broadening her actor training.
Inês Oliveira loves to play a diverse range of roles, from characters full of vulnerability and psychological depth to those of a humorous, quirky nature. Her favorite line of work is one with a strong message, dealing with pivotal women characters. In her spare time, she enjoys lyrical and poetic writing, as well as singing and writing her own songs.
